Improving the ecology of our blue spaces & facilitating access to them for all

ELCAN CIC is a collective of watersport experts, working with environmental researchers, partners, providers & charities connected by the waterways to tackle plastic pollusion, invasive species, and barriers to sport.

Ways to get involved...

Litterpicking

Get your team out on the water and tackle plastic pollution with a Corporate Social Responsibility session.

We offer half-day and full-day activities, and can include teas, coffees or lunch.  A great way to make a difference.

kayak litterpicking

We work with Lower Regent's Coalition to run at least one volunteer litterpick each month.

These events have been running since 2013 and engage a dedicated community of local change-makers.

Family and SEND group taster sessions

We work with partners to offer regular inclusive watersports opportunities for local residents and families.

These sessions are designed to introduce anyone keen to try paddlesports to the water safely.

Current Projects You'll be Supporting:

Community Boat Club

Oar & Explore Boat Club

We're supporting this new community boat club by providing the skills and qualifications members need to safely take to the water.

Tackling Invasive Species

We're working to monitor the spread of invasive species and keep the waterways clear of damaging vegetation.

Campaign for Access

Miles of waterways are currently only accessible to those able to climb ladders or steep walls. We're working towards equitable access and safe launch points.
